Yellowstone National Park

Fish Where the Wild Things Are

Remote Beauty, Wild Trout, and Endless Possibility

Yellowstone offers a vast variety of streams and rivers. Some of our favorites include the Gardiner River, Upper Yellowstone, Slough Creek, Lamar River and Soda Butte Creek. Most of the fisheries in Yellowstone involve some hiking however there are plenty of road accessible opportunities as well. Fish species are primarily Yellowstone Cutthroats but depending on the stream, anglers can have the opportunity to catch Browns, rainbows and Brooke trout. As of last year, the park service has opened fly-fishing in the Gardiner and Madison rivers up year around offering tremendous late fall and early spring fishing. Fishing these rivers can result in extremely hi fish numbers throughout the day along with catching some sizeable fish too!

YNP fishing season is the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend through October 31

*Gardiner and Madison rivers open year around
